Consulting with churches and organists to provide
digital pipe organ alternatives capable of truly authentic tonal accuracy and value.

If you have a requirement for the sound of a pipe organ of exceptional quality that is capable of playing a wide range of literature and service music, but do not have the acoustical environment or financial resources to justify the investment in a pipe organ from a reputable builder, then a custom built digital organ from Eminent or Cantor is an instrument you must investigate. Unlike “mass produced electronic organs”, a custom built church organ will offer solutions to meet the specific needs of each client.

Both companies offer custom-built digital organs in a variety of styles and tonal concepts. We strive to build digital organs offering pipe organ realism that you may find actually sounds better than the stereotypical tonal mediocrity that has plagued both the electronic and pipe organ world for decades.

Our organs are not only suited for churches, chapels and home studio applications, but make an ideal alternative for colleges and universities. The Eminent Capella or Cantor Positive series would be an ideal solution for practice facilities, homes, chapels,  or any application where space, acoustics, or financial resources are an issue.

In the United States, the tonal concepts of electronic organ manufacturers have been shaped not only by certain sound ideals, but principally by developing technology available in a particular time period. Pipe organ builders led the historical research of the 1980’s and beyond which resulted in a reappraisal of organ sound.

It became clear that the history of the organ involved an enormous range of artistic concepts, technical designs and sonic ideals. This realization, in turn, strengthened the belief that it is not possible to build an authentic "all purpose" organ, as most electronic manufacturers claim.

With increasing frequency, musicians and churches are turning away from the passé tonal trends of organ building to one which is  based on tonal principles of distinct, coherent tonal concepts that was the mark of individual historic models.

Building a digital organ of any tonal distinction requires much more than just an advanced knowledge of electronics. To create a true digital pipe organ replica requires not only advanced developments in electronics, computer, and software design, but also an inherent knowledge of the traditional organ building. To really achieve success in building a digital organ that is believable requires the clear understanding of pipe organ design, the ability to discern pipe organ speech, pipe voicing, organ literature, and reasonable performance skills.

Finding all of these qualities is a normal expectation when considering a quality pipe organ builder. In the realm of digital organ building, finding all of these characteristics will be the exception with all but a limited number of custom organ builders.

We offer churches and organists digital organs of high quality and value. Unlike other electronic organ companies, Eminent and Cantor organs are not mass-produced based on a common design and shipped to dealer showrooms.

Much like any pipe organ, our organs are built specifically for each client, custom designed to their specific tonal requirements, and voiced specifically for each installation. Real time digital organ technology is extremely accurate and specialized, so its use is typically limited only to custom pipe organ builders who need to augment pipe work  and a  small group of specialized all-digital organ builders whose interests revolve around building truly musical instruments. This is why many believe organs employing real time technology sound more authentic then organs who rely on sample technology.
